The aim of this lecture is to discuss specific management options which may assist in the wound healing process. Antibiotic coverage is often provided with systemic medications, however other methods such as regional antibiotic use through venous or osseous perfusions can be beneficial. Topical medications of various sorts are available to practitioners and this talk will touch on some of the common and emerging ones such as waxes, PRP and medical maggot use. Finally for the wounds that have got to a static point in the healing process skin grafting can be applied to assist and encourage epithelialization.
